The Wellness Pathways program at GLSS, which offers a variety of health self-management and fall prevention workshops, will host a Health Fair on Thursday, June 13. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., at the Demakes Family YMCA, 40 Neptune Boulevard, in Lynn. The event is open to the public and will feature local health and wellness programs and providers.
Wellness Pathways is committed to improving health and quality of life of adults of all ages in our communities. Currently, the program offers evidence-based health self-management workshops for people living with chronic disease, chronic pain, and diabetes; Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance, for people wishing to improve strength and balance; A Matter of Balance, for older adults who have concerns about falling; and Healthy Eating for Successful Living in Older Adults, focused on bone- and heart-healthy nutrition strategies. Workshops are offered in both English and Spanish, and in person and via Zoom.
“When we say a program is ‘evidence-based,’ we mean it is proven by data to show that it helps people achieve better health and life quality,” says Jousette Anaya, who manages GLSS’ Wellness Pathways programs. Learn more at www.glss.net.
