Some Specific Program Options
The Lique Living Legacy Fund
To honor and celebrate the memory spirit, and vision of Vince Lique, an inspirational leader and dedicated and faithful advocate for seniors in the community.
Vince Lique, the former Executive Director of GLSS who died in 2006, and his wife, Kathy, made a generous donation to establish an emergency fund at GLSS in 2004. In his typical style, Vince recognized a need, and he did something about it. The emergency fund that was important to him has now been renamed in his honor.
The fund allows the agency to reach beyond its human service mission to provide quick, meaningful assistance to clients needing a helping hand with unusual or unexpected expenses: the kind of emergencies that occur in everyone’s life but that can have a devastating effect on seniors struggling to maintain their independence. Quite simply, it buys a new pair of eyeglasses or needed food or an air conditioner to keep a homebound client comfortable during a heatwave.
To those who knew Vince well, it is easy to see why the creation of this fund appealed to him on so many levels: as a compassionate human being, tireless advocate, smart administrator, forward-thinking leader.
Phoenix Food Hub
GLSS is proud to introduce a new initiative that will fall under the umbrella of the Lique Living Legacy Fund - Phoenix Food Hub. In collaboration with the Lynn Food Security Task Force, Phoenix Food Hub will be a food and nutrition resource serving anyone who needs access to good food and nutrition counseling, free of charge. It will be housed on the ground floor of GLSS' main building on Silsbee Street in Lynn's Central Square. Food insecurity is a day-to-day struggle faced by many in Greater Lynn, and Phoenix Food Hub will alleviate some of the burden of people having to make difficult choices between buying food or paying rent or monthly bills.
In Honor or in Memory of Someone
Send a gift that is enduring. Donating in honor or in loving memory helps the most vulnerable. Please complete the In Memory of and In Honor of form IN ADDITION to using the Donate button. To get to the Memory of Someone form, click this Memory Form Link.
The Caregiver Program
The Caregiver Program works with caregivers so they can keep their loved ones at home in a loving environment for as long as possible. The program provides education, support groups, and, if money allows, devices such as voice assistants, safety products, and tactile products to help at home.

Memory Cafe
Memory Cafes are a place where people with memory loss and their families and friends can share fun and laughter in a safe environment. GLSS hosts a Memory Cafe on the third Thursday of every month at the Lynn Museum from 10 am to 12 pm. We need your help to keep this going. View some of the activities of past Memory Cafes.
Meals on Wheels
"Day in and day out, Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals to homebound, isolated senior citizens and adults with disabilities. Sometimes the Meals on Wheels drivers are the only people they will see that day. It isn't just a meal; it is human contact. This helps make our communities more livable for everyone," said Kathryn C. Burns, Executive Director of GLSS. "Local companies can also help by sponsoring a route on our new Meals on Wheels Vans as well."
Emergency Fuel Assistance Fund
Like the Lique Living Legacy Fund, the Emergency Fuel Assistance Fund has been established to provide support to seniors in the community who are already “living on the edge,” just barely hanging on to their independence, struggling to make ends meet on very low, fixed incomes, forced to make difficult decisions in the face of rising energy costs.
