If you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, our Housing Advocates can help.
Every year, GLSS’ Housing Advocacy Program helps hundreds of older adults who are homeless or at risk of being displaced from housing. Our Housing Advocates help eligible seniors find subsidized housing, relocate seniors who are at risk of eviction, and work to resolve landlord/tenant disputes.

Housing Advocates work in close coordination with many other local health and human service organizations, local housing authorities and shelters, public safety officials, Northeast Legal Aid, building managers, and private landlords, as well as other GLSS departments, to identify housing options that best meet individual needs. Advocates also work with clients to fill out and file housing applications; resolve housing barriers, such as bad credit or legal problems; and obtain public and community benefits. Referrals to other GLSS programs, including Home Care Services, Hoarding Outreach, and Mobile Mental Health, can be made to assist older adults in achieving housing security.
