Woman on a Phone Call

If you or someone in your family is 60 or older, we make it easy for you to get exactly the services you’re looking for.  With just one phone call, our Information & Referral Specialists will help you tap into a vast array of information about programs, services, and community resources that can help you or your family members.

The first time you call us, you’ll speak with someone in our Information & Referral department. Our friendly, well-trained staff will answer all your questions about services and benefits. We’ll help you find home care, meals, transportation, an advocate…whatever you need.

We can help you or a loved one:

  • Connect to needed services.
  • Unravel Medicaid, Medicare, and other health benefits with a SHINE counselor.
  • Tap into a vast pool of supportive resources, here and across the country.
  • Find appropriate solutions for a range of elder care problems.
  • Stay independent longer.
  • And more.

Why wonder or wait? Call us today at 781-599-0110, or e-mail your questions to info@glss.net. Information & Referral staff are available Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (except holidays).

If you like, you can also meet in person with a member of our team at our main office at 8 Silsbee Street in Lynn by scheduling an appointment during office hours.

Who is this program for?

Information & Referral is a free, state-funded program that is available to all residents, whether you live in Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Saugus, or Swampscott, or have a family member who lives in one of our five communities. If you are seeking information outside of our area, visit massoptions.org to find the Area Agency on Aging offering this service in your community.

How does this work?

Depending on your needs, one of our Information and Referral Specialists will answer your questions and provide you with information about a broad range of community supports and resources.  If it is determined that services through GLSS are needed, an appointment will be scheduled with one of our Intake Specialists, who will visit you in your home to gather more information.  If approved for services, you and your GLSS Case Manager will develop a specialized plan of care unique to you and your unique needs.
